What can you expect from a conversation?
A conversation does not have to produce an immediate solution. The other person may need time to respond. Preparation helps you focus on your observations and request, but it cannot guarantee a particular response.
After the conversation
Record any agreements accurately and keep track of what happens afterwards. If the problem continues, organise the events and correspondence in an incident diary or case file.
If direct contact feels unsafe or you cannot resolve the problem together, consider support from a mediation service, your landlord or housing provider, the building manager or your local council, depending on the circumstances. In a UK emergency, call 999.
