Start with clarity
Check the relevant ownership, lease, tenancy or parking arrangements before describing the space as yours. Identify the space and give a specific example of when it was occupied. Explain the effect on you and allow the other person to respond.
Avoid assuming it is deliberate. The allocation or rules may not be clear to everyone. A parking space on a public road is different from a private or allocated space; this pack is intended for the latter.
Does it keep happening?
Record further incidents and any agreements. Consider a conversation or ask the landowner, managing agent or authorised parking operator about the process that applies. Do not threaten enforcement action that you are not entitled to take.
