What is in the bundle?
Make agreements regarding music and bass sound that penetrates your home. The messages help you specify concrete times and consequences, and discuss adjustments to volume, speaker placement, or usage times. Your neighbor may not know what is audible at your place.
You will receive one ZIP download containing seven editable Word files and one Excel logbook:
• Five sample messages: a first message in three lengths (short, medium, and extensive), a reminder, and a third message.
• User manual and selection guide with input fields and explanation on how to modify the texts.
• Background information and a concise legal framework for the Netherlands.
• An Excel logbook with explanations, space for events and contact appointments, and a separate fictitious completed example.
The follow-up messages offer choice options for no response, no improvement, and temporary improvement. Choose only what applies to your situation; you do not need to send all messages.
Unzip the file and open the files with software that supports Word and Excel files. Modify the texts before using them. The bundle provides general information, not personal legal advice or a guarantee that the nuisance will stop.
Example from the logbook
Fictional record from the collection: 12-09-2026, 21:10–21:45 (35 minutes), bedroom. Observation: “Heard a recurring bass thump in the bedroom from 21:10 to 21:45; melody barely audible.” Consequence: “My moment of rest was interrupted.”
In the Excel file, you also keep track of contact moments and appointments. Do not transfer the fictitious data into your own registration.
Use on computer or phone
You need software that can extract ZIP files and open and edit Word and Excel files. On a phone, a suitable app may be required for this. After making changes, you can copy the text to a messaging app or email, or print it as a letter.
