Rats and pests drawn by a neighbour’s food or rubbish — Pack

Seeing rats or mice drawn to a neighbour’s bird food, bread, chicken feed, open rubbish or compost heap? Raise it calmly. Describe what you saw yourself and ask for a realistic change, such as a hanging feeder, clearing food away in the evening or rubbish in a closed bin, without blaming anyone.

You receive one clear Word document that you can open straight away:

• Five sample messages: a first message in three lengths (short, medium and detailed), a reminder and a third message, each on its own page.

• A guide to choosing a message and instructions for use, with a clickable table of contents.

• Background information and a brief legal overview for the UK.

• A log to print or fill in, with an invented example. Prefer Excel? A link in the document lets you download an Excel version too.

Choose one suitable first message and fill in your own details. The follow-up messages include variants for no reply, no improvement or temporary improvement. General information for the UK; not individual legal advice.

Open the document in Word or another program that supports Word files. The text to send is always in a green box. Adapt the texts before you use them. The pack offers general information, not individual legal advice or a guarantee that the problem will stop.
